I spend the next several years paranoid that it will break spectacularly when I need it most.

I rebuilt a transmission before, so when I snap in a mod or install a part I made/rebuilt myself, IDGAF any more.

Heh, I guess being pedantically meticulous about everything has it's advantages sometimes.

When asked how my car is after the mods I've done so far, I usually respond with: "Its good. Sounds more like a race car now, more and more rattles and clunking."

Same here.

I kept trying to get a piece apart from the old 944's engine this afternoon and finally had to just give up. :o( That sleeve in front of the camshaft wasn't budging and all I was doing was hurting my borked hand.

As much as we've torn into that engine, I'm getting really anxious about firing it up. :o( Everything I touch usually turns to fail, so ouch.

My car had a short throw, mud flaps, winter tires on bright coloured steelies an Amp and Sub, and a STI axle back (muffler)

So I tell hot babes it's 1/6 Race Car with a straight face, They usually laugh sometimes they talk to me again.
